Meet your Corporate Closet fairy godmother

Hi there — let’s skip the name and introduction. What you need to know is that I’ve got your back and your closet. From the boardroom to a semi-casual business lunch, I am there every step of the way, helping you curate a look that speaks before you do — an Executive Look. Master the look of an executive and you’ll see the confidence it brings shining through your work. Think of me as the fairy godmother of corporate fashion: a look that’s professional yet still makes a statement.

As for my name, it’s one you will soon associate with corporate fashion and a well-curated lifestyle that emphasizes self-care and a reputable social standing — even in some of the most exclusive circles. If you’ve been reading this long, I owe you a proper introduction.

My name is Zinhle Ntshangase. The best translation of my Zulu name, Zinhle, would be “All Things Beautiful,” and I truly live up to it — as I’ve often been told. You’ll see this reflected in the looks and lifestyle I curate, and in my own life, where I am a living embodiment of “Zinhle.”

Fashion has always been an interest of mine. As someone who has been in the pageantry scene for over 17 years, fashion has been a part of me since the days I was still learning to count to a hundred. My most recent title, Miss Durban 2023, opened my eyes to the versatility of beauty. I embraced my pageant journey in my natural hair — in a society where natural 4C hair is still sometimes met with racial prejudice, labeled “unprofessional” or “unkept.”

As someone who was bullied for my natural hair in high school, it was a privilege — and incredibly healing — to showcase just how beautiful and professional natural 4C hair is. I got to represent a type of beauty that hasn’t always been given a platform.

As a final-year ICT student, throughout the many internships I’ve completed in corporate spaces, I can confidently attest to how dressing professionally and stylishly has earned me the respect of an executive — even as an intern. How you dress commands the room and sets the tone for how you are treated and perceived in the workplace.
